Question from customer:

We have sold one MAB 845 to the party. The main function of the party was to cut threads with 30 mm tap in 25mm thick SS plate.

The core cutting part of the machine is OK but the 30mm tap is not working.

The tap starts cutting the threads and after two three convulsions it stops going ahead and keeps rotating at the same position.

Answer:

There are few mistakes which end customers in generally do while tapping, we think it will be one of those.

1. After making the hole and then changing the cutter to tap, is the end user moving the machine and replacing it?

Normally, after making the hole, the magnet of the machine should be still ON (do not switch off the magnet) then change the cutter to the Tap and do the tapping. This helps in maintaining the center of the hole.

2. Which tap type is the customer using? I will need a photo of the tool.

Sometimes the customer uses wrong tap type. They need to use ‘’machine tap’’ and ‘’through hole tap’’ not blind hole tap or manual taps.
